The
inspector wouldn't pass this shower without support on the fixed
panel on three sides. So we installed the support bar as shown.
It obviously doesn't give the panel much support but it did satisfy
the inspector. We could find nothing
in the UBC that says anything remotely like what he was saying.
Even in commercial applications
it is not at all uncommon to have glass supported on just one side.
